Art at Bayside

A few weeks ago we had an artist camper from Quebec as a guest. She came down to the office and asked Leonard about some local areas she felt would be good muse for some landscapes she wanted to paint while in PEI.

Leonard directed her to the top corner of the campground, and said there was no better view in PEI than right in his back yard. He was right! Here’s the resulting landscape:

A lovely representation of Rustico Harbour, and the rolling hills that surround this beautiful place. Here’s Leonard and the artist, Diane Brunet.

Bayside Halloween

Summer at Bayside RV Campground is winding down. Our annual event “Bayside Halloween” was held last weekend… and as usual everyone had a blast!

In the afternoon, the fun was for the kids, who got all dressed up in costume, and trick or treated their way through the campground. They were loaded down with candy by the time they were done! We put some music on in the Rec hall and they hung out and had fun after the treats.

Then it was onto the adult halloween party. Everyone made a big effort to come in costume, and it was fun guessing who was who! There were some excellent costumes in the bunch. There was dancing untill the wee hours, fun was the order of the evening!

Thanks to all the campers for another successful Halloween Party at Bayside RV Campground.

Weekend update

concertThe long anticipated concert by seasonal camper Kim Albert was held Friday evening was a big hit!

Kim and her band Faces set themselves up in the rec hall and the place was packed. She put on an amazing show, had everyone up dancing the night away.

A lot of the campground kids were allowed to stay up and enjoy the concert as well, and it was fun to see them up dancing and enjoying the fabulous show as much as the adults did.

The highlight was when Kim’s two kids joined her on stage for a couple of duets. First up Jaelyn singing Rocky Top, then little Kallan with a touching song with Mom! . There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Thanks to all for coming out and making it a show to remember! And thanks to Kim Albert and the band Faces for an amazing evening.

Arts and Crafts at Bayside

fishythingThe summer’s fun continued this past weekend with an Arts and Craft project, taken from the history books of Bayside RV Campground. Thanks to all who participated!

Ken and his wife Doris camped at Bayside for 15 years. Ken used to make recycled pop bottle wind Birds… commonly known as “Whirlygigs” by all the Bayside RV campers. Though he sadly passed away , there are still quite a few decorating the seasonal’s spots around the campground with his artistic touch on them.

15 or more kids participated, and all walked back to their trailers proudly carrying a bit of Bayside RV Campground history. We also made recycled pop bottle birdfeeders, as suggested by one of the camper kids  (thanks Hannah #1!).

It took an army of folk to make it happen, so thanks to Boots (a.k.a. Allison) for collecting the bottles in the first place, thanks to kim for cutting them into whirly bird shape, thanks to Paula for volunteering to help… and  thanks all the parents + deb who gave a hand to make art and craft day a rounding success.

Best in Show

bestinshow1A big thanks to all the participants who came out and made our annual Bayside RV Campground “BEST IN SHOW” a rounding success.

The event started with each participant strutting their stuff. We gave a big round of applause to them all, as they were all beautiful, and well turned out in their finery.

Next was the tricks. From sitting, lay down, shaking paws, and dancing, we had a blast watching pets and owners showing off. By far the favorite was Buddy playing dead… on both sides!

Congratulations to seasonal participant Kiko, for winning the grand prize!

Concert Weekend

Well, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival weekend is finally upon us.  We are completly booked up!

This not to be missed event has been long awaited by festival goers across Canada and the US. We’ve got campers here from Pennsylvania, New Mexico, New York, and all parts of Canada.

We only have dry camping for RV’s available, we are doing our best to accommodate as many campers as possible, without compromising the fun and space for all.

We’ve arranged for the concert go’ers to avoid the traffic.  It leaves at various times of the day, and several options on the return home.

The weather is looking great so Welcome to the Island Tim McGraw  and Reba McEntyre…. knock us out!

P.S. The festival was a huge hit, attendance surpassing organizer’s expectations. Book your spot early for next year to make sure you get in on the fun!
